Message from Vice-Chair: Lynne Byers Minimize

The last couple of months have been exciting for Rx-360.  This past month we held our first Open Meeting in Germany for individuals interested in joining Rx-360. I would like to thank everyone who joined Rx-360 for the meeting. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our host Merck KGaA and all of the Rx-360 members who helped make the meeting happen.

In addition to sharing our accomplishments and taking a look at the future of Rx-360 at the meeting, we had some breaking news to share. When we first began the organisation, many of us had to convince our in-house lawyers that all activities would be done in accordance with anti-trust laws in the United States and anti-competition laws in Europe. Rx-360 has been very careful to build a framework which meets these requirements.

In July we submitted information about the Rx-360 activities to the US Federal Trade Commission to seek an advisory opinion on the activities of the consortium. We were thrilled to announce at the Open Meeting that we have now received a positive advisory opinion, which allows us to commence the audit sharing programme.

We also had good news in August. CPhI is organising a major international conference for the pharmaceutical industry and suppliers this October in Paris.  They are providing Rx-360 with a booth to help spread the word about the work of the consortium. Please come and visit the booth during the conference to find out more about the progress we are making and how to become a member. Details of the conference may be found at www.cphi.com.

Lastly, I would like to welcome the newly elected board members to the Rx-360 team.  Further details are included in the article below. Please join me in congratulating them on their new roles.

If you would like more information on membership, please contact the Rx-360 Secretariat at rx360info@dbr.com
