My career in pharmaceuticals and biologicals spans 25+ years and since 2017, I’m the Head of the Global Supplier Quality Organization at Lonza, for suppliers, contract manufactures and service providers.
I’m holding a Master in Chemistry from the University of Leuven (Belgium) and started his career in pharma business at Janssen Pharmaceutica (J&J), where I held various QA positions in de different domains with increasing responsibilities.
Since 2000, I’m dealing with suppliers and contract manufactures both in quality and operations.
My first position related to suppliers was at Janssen Pharmaceutica where I started as an auditor. I took more and more responsibilities and became the Head of the Global Supplier Quality organization for small and large molecules. After Janssen Pharmaceutica, I was also leading the Global Supplier Quality Organization at GSK Vaccines followed by being the Director External Supply operations managing the operational activities for all contract manufactures for the global vaccines network.
During my career, I created several global organizations, developed, optimized and implemented several key corporate processes and managed international and virtual teams.
In these optimization projects, I focused on harmonization, efficiency and feasibility. I implemented several risk based and performance driven supplier quality programs.
I emphasize on meeting expectation for both suppliers and customers, by giving visibility throughout the whole supply chains, collaboration and continuous improvement.
I’m already involved since the first years of Rx-360 and I’ve been supportive in the initial phase of the consortium by redacting and sharing already the first existing members’ reports in 2009 – 2010. I was also the moderator of the observers working group at that time.
Due to my experience, my early involvement and being part of the BPOG joint audit project, I’m in favor of information sharing concept, developing and harmonizing the processes to guaranty the supply chain integrity and quality / compliance of the provided materials.
