Martin founded Rx-360 in 2008. He envisioned the concept of the organization while meeting with fellow pharmaceutical industry executives and the director of the U.S. Food & Drug Administration’s Center for Drug Evaluation & Research (CDER) (Janet Woodcock, at that time) about a heparin contamination that was responsible for 81 deaths and additional injuries. The tragic event brought the issue of drug safety and supply-chain security to the forefront.
